It's Saturday, day after treatment#1 of cycle#2, feeling ok. Had both drugs yesterday, all and all ok, I did get a headache during the avastin IV, they stopped it for a few min and gave me some Tylenol, seemed to help but left with a headache...so went straight to bed when we got home around 2:30 or so...slept until around 7:00 and then got up for awhile but was back asleep by 10:00...so I didn't make the Red Sox game again and they lost again....maybe I need to watch the games for them to win! I think tomorrow's game is in the afternoon so I'll be awake! They have to win or that's it they are out of the post season!
I did see the doctor yesterday and was able to get more information. At this point I may not be able to get my CT scan the week of Oct 26th...looks like I may have wait until the next week...something about the timing of the complete cycle being completed. They are going to investigate the timing issue and call me early next week and let me know my options on when I can have scan. I told them I did not want to wait for results once done so they agreed to have appointment scheduled 2 days after scan for the results. It seemed like they wanted my scan sometime the week of Nov 2nd and then I would see doctor again on Friday Nov 6th and find out results...if working I would have treatment that day if not we would discuss next steps....well I said NO...I did not want to do it that way and they agreed! I also asked further detail about options if this is not working.....if it's not, I will definitely not have any type of treatment for about 3 weeks...no matter what...any change in treatment, I must wait and let the current drugs do there work and clear my system. Further options could be another trial or and FDA approved cocktail but we will need to wait and see what the best fit is when the time comes!
So as my timeline of knowing my exact next steps is getting shorter, its beginning to take its toll on my mind. I always have to have a plan for the future and right now my known plan only takes be about 3 to 4 weeks...not what I like, but I'll have to deal with it! So be patient with me over the next few weeks!
