Saturday, February 14th - Happy Valentines's Day

Hello all...I just realized it's been a long time since last post on January 24th! Here's what gone on...I had MRI on January 27th. This was done under sedation (slept through the entire thing!)...MRI was only to the arm bone between elbow and shoulder. Back into Boston on Weds the 28th for results....MRI showed nothing wrong!!!! I'm sure you can realize my frustration....my arm is killing me all the time, I have very limited motion of right arm, they called be 3 weeks ago and told be they were "not optimistic" that everything was fine based on X-Ray......and now they are telling me they can't find anything!!!!!!! So...another MRI to the shoulder....takes time to schedule due to sedation....so scheduled for February 10th! MRI was Tuesday and Weds early evening they called...pain is due to a torn rotor cuff in my shoulder!! According to Oncologist, MRI shows a lot of swelling of the shoulder muscles and a tear! She said this was not her area of expertise and I would need to see an Orthopedic Surgeon! It actually was wonderful news....I now know what the pain is from but it's not cancer!!!!! I've opted to visit an Orthopedic locally instead of staying in Boston...so I have an appointment for February 27th...first available that fits my schedule and the doctors! But I'm ok with that....I feel like now I can take all these pills, Motrin and muscle relaxers and I'm not masking something that could be getting worse! actually seeing a doctor recommended by my Radiation Oncologist. He actually uses this doctor personally! So for now it's a wait and see...hoping this can be fixed via Physical Therapy and maybe a cortisone shot or something instead of surgery...it all depends how big the tear is!

As for radiation....going everyday...actually have had 15 of the 28 required 9missed a few days due to MRI)....starting to get red and very itchy...sun burn in February...how nice! Surgical area has healed pretty good....seem to have a lot of scare tissue that we need to watch....radiation onc wants be to schedule a follow-up with the surgeon, but I hate to do that....i want to stay as far away from Boston as I can for now! But we'll see, if he persists I'll schedule something!

On the home front....we've had a few weekends of no children...way too quite! It is a long weekend for both of them since Monday is President's day, but Sean is actually gone away with is Frat brothers....somewhere in Northern New Hampshire so we will not see him! Caitlin is coming home for a short period but she not sure exactly when. Tomorrow is Sidney's baby shower at 2:00Pm and Caitlin said she may go straight there...probably doesn't want to miss a party or something tonight on campus! Anyways she said she would be home for a few days since she has no classes this week until Thursday. We'll see...very busy weekends for us now until mid March or so.....between Showers and birthdays! Caitlin says she is going to try to make all the events but for Sean...doubt it! I did tell him I wanted him home the weekend of the 27th so we could celebrate his sisters 21st birthday, but we'll have to wait and see! Intent was do have Caitlin's party at Mom & Dad's but it doesn't look like they be moved in yet. House is coming along quickly now but I'm sure they will not be in and settled by the 28th of February! I'll need to figure something else out for celebrating her B-Day!!!!!!!

Have a good weekend!
