Morning all! It's Sunday morning and I'm going to look at this as a start of a new week! Last week was tough....I feel like I've taken 100 steps backwards! As I mentioned last weekend....site was again swelling....called on Monday and had an appointment for Tuesday. They decided best way to move forward was to put the drain back in....so guess what...I have this thing hanging from me again! It's a little different from the one placed in at surgery. That original one had a wide tube coming from a whole below the surgical site....this one has same needle and tube as an IV right into the surgical site. Same type ball at the end collecting the fluid but tubing is much thinner! Once needle was placed in they stitched the plastic holder to my skin to hold it in place. It's a little awkward, pulls if I move the wrong way and itching!!!! But it's draining or I'll say it drains as long as I manipulate it every few hours. Looks like little clot type thing which cause air pockets that I need to work through. I guess that's good....but then again I don't know anymore what's good or what's bad or what's normal or what's not!!! They said this was in until I drained less then 5 cc in a 24 hour period for 2 to3 consecutive days. This morning I drained about 7 cc so not there yet. I've resolved myself that I will have this through the holiday and for my 25th high school reunion which is next Friday night!
So with all that I decided to take the entire week off of work! Going to rest, get the things done with Mom for the house...pick out her kitchen windows, cabinets, etc and then go pick up Sean on Weds! Caitlin has her own car so she is driving herself home, originally was on Tuesday but now she may be coming home on Monday night! Heading up to Linda and Bobby's (Bernie's sister)for Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday and my Mom & Dad are coming with us. Should be a nice day and we are going to stay the night and then get up and come home on Friday for the reunion!!!
Gotta go.....Bernie wants to put up our Christmas tree next weekend while the kids are home so I need to get myself cleaning and organizing so I'm ready! Happy Thanksgiving to all!
