Saturday MOrning, November17th

Morning...it's about 7:45am and I'm up an moving! I feel pretty good! Yesterdays infusion went well..the visit with Oncologist before hand took a little longer then usual, so it was almost 11:30 or so when I was hitched up. Mom had to get back to work so I told her she could leave, so actually having no one there at the beginning of the infusion, I got all comfortable and was asleep within 15 min! They had to wake me up to begin all Chemo (they have to have you tell them your name and birth date) but I had slept straight through all the pre med stuff. I went right back to sleep once the chemo started then Bernie came...he brought me an ice cream sundae...so I woke right up to eat it! Boy was it good! I was home by around 2:30 and went straight to bed! I did get up around six, went to my brothers for dinner (which was also good!...with all this food no wonder why I'm gaining weight!!!)...well back home and sound asleep by 9:00pm...and here I am up and moving!! Again I feel good...no nausea or pain! The onc did say my blood counts are dropping and needed to be watch...I have a CBC test each week and they said my baseline at starting this Taxol was 4.6, after first injection it went to 2.8 and this week it was 2.2. If under 2.0, I can not have the taxol. Not sure what the numbers are measuring, because I know it's not my white blood counts because those numbers are always higher....I'm getting bad, because before I wanted to know every little detail. Anyways, there is nothing I can do to help this count...it's just watch and see, but if it does go to 2.0 or below, I will get shots to bring the counts back up after each infusion. It has a different name then the one had I had with the first treatment but it must do the same thing, which is medically good, but the pain I got from the other shot after treatment was a killer, so I'm not looking forward to it! I guess from what I understand these "after shots" are very expensive and insurance companies do not always approve them. My first Round of medicine always dropped peoples blood counts so there wasn't a question of insurance paying because if they didn't they would probably have a bigger bill because odds were I would end up in the hospital with out it! Now with this Taxol, everyone's body is different so it is not a normal to have the shot after, only when it is medically necessary. Anyways if it happens since I'm on Friday infusions now instead of Thursday, I will either go to the hospital on Saturday for the shot or I might even be able to give it to myself at home! We'll wait and see what happens....not sure I could give my self a shot. I'm glad the hospital is only done the street!!

Gotta go!
Sorry to all everywhere for the worry....I promise, even if only a few words each day, I will POST daily!!!!! It's because of the support of all of you that I have been able to keep going and make it this far still functioning almost normal!!!

Have a Good Day!
